Awisi Foundation is an NGO with keen interest in Orphans or kids from deprived homes. It is registered under the Ghana Companies Act, 1963 (Act 179) with a working mandate of transforming the lives of orphans.
We are on a mission to connect hearts, uplift lives, and break down barriers for orphans, poor, and needy children. Together with our dedicated sponsors, we aspire to build a world where every child has the opportunity to flourish, irrespective of their circumstances.
Join us in creating a legacy of compassion, education, and empowerment.
I grew up at Nectar Orphanage Home in Odumase-Krobo in the Eastern part of Ghana. A lot happens within our environment and it is true that the life orphan/underprivileged children live is a big challenge.
The Awisi Foundation was birthed from a desire to reach out to the less fortunate, poor and needy children of Ghanaian society. Being an orphan myself, I’ve drawn inspiration from my fellow brothers and sisters at the orphanage where I was raised. Their drive led me to establish the Awisi Foundation, with the aim of giving back to both society and the Nectar Orphanage, my childhood home.
Our main focus at Awisi Foundation is on the well-being of underprivileged children, and we are deeply committed to making a difference in the lives of these children. We are very passionate about closing the Educational Gap in our societies. Our scholarships, resources, and support aim to ensure that underprivileged children not only have access to education but also the tools they need to thrive. Our main sponsorship program connects sponsors directly with individual children, providing vital financial support for essentials like nutritious meals, secure shelter, and quality education.
Through this initiative, over 200 children have benefited from our educational sponsorship.
We would love to have you
The medical placement will be based at Atua Government Hospital. The hospital provides what is arguably the best treatment, but other principal concerns of those admitted to the hospital include malaria, chest infection, (such as pneumonia and bronchitis) and hyper-tension and diabetes. Volunteers undertaking the medical placement will have the opportunity to choose a particular area based upon their interest in which to observe, or rotate through a number of areas.
The teaching program at Awisi Foundation offers volunteers the opportunity to influence not only the lives of the Nectar Home residents, but also those of the children in the local community. We have partnered two local schools, Brains International School and Nuasu Presbyterian School, to allow volunteers to work within the school, by enriching the curriculum with their unique experiences and skills.
We are grateful for all the support we have recieved so far and we still need more to see these young ones through to their dreams. Thank you!
